Kaley Tea is part of the Ceylon Artisanal Tea Association (CATA), a new generation of Sri Lankan tea entrepreneurs are showcasing a variety of handcrafted teas created outside the traditional orthodox production styles. Their goal is to reach those discerning tea lovers around the world who are moving away from mass produced blends. These consumers are seeking out high-quality, unique, & small-batch produced teas from tea growers that also support sustainability. In other words, they want the tea they purchase to be delicious and make a difference by supporting small farmers and workers with increased income and the continued care of the earth through natural growing practices.
Udena Wickremesooriya, CEO of Kaley Tea and Secretary of CATA describes CATA simply as tea artisans “connected around natural, healthy, artisanal cuppa with an authentic story – and of course, it comes from Ceylon.”
